Introduction To Predictive Maintenance (PdM)

Workshop Overview

Condition monitoring (CM) also called Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and includes techniques like Vibration Monitoring (VM) is the process of monitoring a parameter of condition in machinery, whether caused by vibration, temperature or others. In order to identify a significant change, one must monitor the equipment that could show indicated of developing fault. It is a major component of predictive maintenance. In other words, PdM puts you in the driving seat to actively prevent breakdowns and optimize maintenance resources where and when they’re needed.

The use of condition monitoring allows maintenance to be scheduled, or other actions to be taken to prevent failure and avoid its consequences. CM has a unique benefit in that conditions that would shorten normal lifespan can be addressed before they develop into a major failure. The bigger picture is that a combined technology approach can be utilized to dramatically increase machine operating life, productivity and ultimately, business profitability.

Key benefits of attending this workshop

By end of this course, delegates will be able to:

GAIN invaluable insights into the benefit of PdM

BETTER UNDERSTAND vibration condition monitoring

EXAMINE effective methodologies for implementing PdM Techniques

UNDERSTAND the reasons for selecting particular maintenance strategies

ENHANCE Awareness of International Standards covering CBM & Certification

IDENTIFY the optimum maintenance strategy for different types of equipment

EXPLORE practical approaches to minimize the risk of plant and machinery breakdowns

Who Should Attend?

Managers, Engineers, Analysts, Supervisors, Technicians and Operators who wish to learn about the benefits of Predictive Maintenance in the areas of Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability and Condition Monitoring from the following industries:

  • Aerospace & Aviation
  • Automotive & Manufacturing

Why You Should Attend?

This course is based on ISO 17359:2011 Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines – General guidelines.

It is designed to introduce the benefits and opportunities of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and covers a range of equipment and PdM techniques.

Note: PdM is known in International Standards as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) or Condition Monitoring (CM)

  • Case studies and examples included will bring to life the methods and components that will be discussed and dissected over the two days.
