Safety Integrity Level (SIL)

Workshop Overview

Process Industries rely upon the performance of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) to protect and maintain operating assets. Engineers and designers are required to calculate the probability of failure of these SIFs to be able to express this performance as a Safety Integrity Level (SIL).

This training course is aimed to outline the fundamental of safety system requirements to the engineers, managers and end user of operational system not to mention outlining the fundamental seven steps of machinery directive requirements for functional safety with the basic risk calculation of probability failure.

The participant will have the opportunity to develop the risk matrix and map the safety integrity framework and the use of the provided risk measurement tools.

Key benefits of attending this workshop

  • UNDERSTANDING major international standards for system safety integrity
  • IDENTIFYING ways to map safety integrity of your operational system
  • BUILDING the safety matrix
  • UNDERSTANDING the safety guidelines and risk reduction
  • IMPLEMENTING the safety integrity requirements
  • UNDERSTANDING the human factor on safety system
  • MASTERING the overall aspects of crisis management
  • CALCULATING the failure risk

Who Should Attend?

This course is aimed at engineers and designers involved in calculating or verifying the performance of new or existing safety instrumented functions, including executive managers, senior managers, section managers, superintendent, engineers, technicians, OEM, contractors, suppliers, site managers of:

  • Operations (QA/QC; production; maintenance; reliability)
  • Procurement & logistic
  • Research & development
  • Health, safety and environment
  • Project management
  • Infrastructure & building & commissioning; decommissioning
  • Safety regulations
  • Process/system

Why you should Attend?

This is a fast paced, highly interactive and activity packed workshop that will open your eyes to the SAFETY INTEGRITY LEVEL.

Furthermore, you will learn international standards and requirements for safety functional system, settle more confidently into your own ‘comfort zone’ as an engineer, manager, safety controller and plant auditor.

You will know how to respond to and manage risks, system prevention, human errors, harnessing system functional safety and asset integration from design to integration to your organization.

You will be able to come up with your own version of a systematic approach for your continuous learning and improvement about the subject and undergo important self-discovery, situational understanding and some important perception shifts that will help you think differently about the way people interact, learn and grow together.

Finally, you will increase business sustainability, profitability, and efficiency by attending this event.
